This ranking uses only what the tour listings show: how travelers rate the tours, how many reviews back those ratings, what a typical tour costs and how many different tour lengths you can choose from. Terrain, thrill and safety are left out of the score because the listings do not measure them.
The result is less romantic and more useful. Some famous off-road destinations fall in the table because their tours are expensive or thinly reviewed, and some countries rise because they combine high ratings with low prices. Each country below also says what kind of tours actually make up its catalog, so you know whether you will ride a quad yourself or sit in a jeep.
How we chose
We took the 178 tours on our 18 country pages (9 or 10 per country), captured from Viator listings between June and September 2026. The catalogs include ATV, quad, buggy, UTV, jeep and snowmobile tours plus a few combos. For each country we ranked four measures from 1 (best) to 18:
- Average rating of the country's tours (higher is better).
- Total reviews across those tours (more reviews means the ratings rest on more evidence).
- Median "from" price per person in USD (lower is better).
- Variety of durations: the number of different tour lengths in hours (more choice is better).
The score is the sum of the four ranks, so the lowest score wins. Ties are broken by total reviews. All four measures weigh the same. Terrain, scenery and safety are not scored because the listings do not measure them. Where we describe them, we quote what the tour pages say.

Morocco scores 22. It has the widest choice of durations in the catalog (8, from a 1-hour ride to a 48-hour Sahara trip), a 4.91 average, 3,019 reviews and a $38 median, second lowest of all 18 countries. It is also the country where half of the 10 listings are quad rides: "ATV Quad biking in Marrakech desert palmgrove" (from $38.37, rated 4.89, 652 reviews, 2 hours), "Agadir Desert ATV Quad Safari with Traditional Berber Tea" (from $40.77, rated 4.91, 474 reviews, 1.5 hours) and "Merzouga Quad Biking Experience" (from $47.96, rated 4.95, 102 reviews, 1 hour).
